AMME

The coalition was incorporated in Austin, Texas February of 2009 as the Alliance for Multilingual Multicultural Education, a national non-profit professional and advocacy organization.
NMABE President Rodolfo Chavez filed the legal papers for the incorporation in New Mexico after the Austin meeting. Dr. Paul Martinez, former NMABE President is one of the Board members.

The Alliance extends to the objectives of the Coalition to address the concern on how to improve relationships between AMME and national Hispanic, Native American, Asian American, and other ethnic and civil rights organizations which advocate on behalf of ELL/LEP students, especially with regard to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)reauthorization.

The dates for the upcoming AMME conference have been changed from to May 19th to the 21st.
