Families and students shared – both orally and in writing – their own family’s information, memories, and stories. Each family compiled their writing into their own individual book. The books, which will serve as a written record that can be handed down and can help to keep ancestry alive, were published, and the finished product was be given to each family. The books function as a bridge to honor the past and the present and give significance to future generations. Most importantly, families created a valuable heirloom that conveys a real sense of identity and self.
